I spend my days behind the counter of a bookstore, getting and giving recommendations, but mostly repairing page corners, removing stickers, doing paperwork, and answering purchase inquiries. At night, I straighten shelves, dust, sweep, and scrub. The books loom in the darkness: 45,000 volumes of temptation. This blog is the story of when, how, and why I sometimes give in, and what it is that I find in the books that finally catch me.
